2.3.2 Measure and Document the condition where your intervention will occur:
This is my 1:1 Scale drawing of the threshold.
I feel that I haven't successfully shown the transition between building one and my hermitage. I really need to work on that.
2.4.1 Hermitage:
I've done quite a few models for my hermitage.
For the first charrette. I created a model that the first space the lecturer would step in is a tunnel which I thought could have glass on both sides to enjoy the views; as the lecturer walk further he/she will come to the working space.
From that I started playing around still keeping the idea of a tunnel as a relaxing space. I tried to incorporate the shapes from descriptive geometry. I used some of the sides of the shapes to be able to create a different shape.
However, I thought that I didn't need to have curves on my design to make it look good. I could use linear shapes and still produce interesting forms. So from there I started ignoring the idea of curves and tunnels and I decided use the shape created by the combination of the shape nets.
Because a hermitage for me is a relaxing, secluded, peaceful space, I felt that my design could have those concepts included but because it was going to be designed for a visiting lecturer I thought I should also include a working space.
While keeping all of these in mind I thought about dividing the spaces in my hermitage. So, on the first level it would be a relaxing/reclining or sleeping space with enclosure so that it could be private and as the lecturer goes up it gets a bit less private. Going upstairs to the left is the sort of balcony area and to the right is the working space.
The balcony area would be a great place to enjoy the views and relax for a while. To make this experience of enjoying the views more interesting I incorporated a lot of angles to the glass. The main point of my design was actually creating angles so that it could be more interesting visually and physically.
From the feedback received today, I think I should base my design on the information I've collected from the site analysis. Since my site gets 4 hours on sunlight in the morning I could design my hermitage in a way that I could effectively get the sunlight coming in and heating up the spaces for the entire day.

Site Analysis.
While choosing the sites I was mainly focusing on sunlight and view because these are two factors that couldn't be easily adapted. So for my three conditions I chose views, sunlight and sound.
My chosen site was the second site because I thought it would be the best to host my hermitage since it gets 4 hours of morning light which is enough to heat the space for the entire day and the views this site had to offer were also considered. I didn't really take into account the sound as anyone could get used to it and so it wouldn't be a big issue.
This is how I've done my site analysis but I think they all look the same, so I'm thinking about being more specific for each site. I'm definitely going to redo it and to that I'll add the shadows for each site, show the accessibility, show how noisy the site is and show the view with more detailed images.
