PIN UP INFORMATION PLEASE READ

PLEASE READ THIS SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY, then read it again:
Section Six [Catarina, previously Kat] + Section Seven [Lester] pin up together inRoom 2030, 12 June 9 am.

  • 9:00 Morning Presentations Session I [120 minutes = 12 students]

  • 11:30 After Tea Presentations Session II [45 minutes = 4 students]

  • 2:15 Afternoon Tea
  • 2:30 After Tea Presentations Session IV [min 30 minutes / max 60 minutes = 3 to 6 students]
Room 2030 is a 3rd year studio and there will be a pin up and crit there on Tuesday.  This means you can not pin up in this room until Tuesday early evening or very early Wednesday morning!  If you need to remove the previous crit’s work off the walls after 5pm [we will ask them to do this but...] please stack it thoughtfully on tables in front of the exterior wall [the Eastern wall with windows facing outside] as we will not be using this wall for our pin ups.
YOUR SESSION TIME IS DETERMINED AS LISTED BELOW. YOUR WALL SECTION FOR PIN UP IS NOT.  CHOOSE A WALL SECTION BASED ON THE AMOUNT AND ORIENTATION OF WORK YOU HAVE [some of you have less drawings than others, please take a smaller wall section].
The South Wall can accommodate 3 students:
The West Wall looks like it can accommodate 3 students but the panels on either side of the centre are just too small.  So this gives room for only 1 student as splitting 2 students here would be awkward.
the Northern Wall fits 4 students:
Session I 9:00:
  • Kimberley Petterson [section 7]
  • Anton Leano [section 7]
  • Kori Taniera [section 7]
  • Natasha Pezic [section 7]
  • Samantha Lewis [section 6]
  • Suven Reddy [section 6]
  • Basma Bajallan [section 6]
  • Matthew Owens [section 6]
The first four students to present in the morning need to quietly pin down while we are reviewing the last four students in first pin up round.  As we are reviewing these four, the remaining four session I students need to pin up  [thus the 8 then 4]:
  • Shableet Chandra [section 7]
  • Jaspreet Kaur [section 7]
  • Pratik Saturi [section 6]
  • Iasmim Marques [section 6]
Session II 11:30:
  • Jarrod Van Driel [section 7]
  • Alisha Moser [section 7]
  • Wesley Twiss [section 6]
  • Kevin Hernandez [section 6]
Session III 1:00:
  • Pedro Weber [section 7]
  • Sam Roberts [section 7]
  • Thor Oskarsson [section 7]
  • Celeste Carnow [section 6]
  • Kapa Hannon [section 6]
  • Adam Amies [section 6]
  • Cameron Dul [section 6]
Session IV 2:30:
  • Harry Craigie [section 7]
  • Chris Green [section 6]
  • George McSweeny [section 6]
  • any overflow from previous sessions
This schedule allows for ten minutes per project, with wiggle room to run over if we have to.  If I were you, I would strictly limit your verbal presentation to 2 to 3 minutes so you can get more time in discussion and feed back.  It is the question and answer, the discussion time, where you can explain your project in more detail.  Make a list of bullet points:
  • why did you choose that site [don't waste time telling us about the sites you did not choose!]
  • what is a hermitage to you
  • what influenced your design
  • what materials have you chosen and why
  • why is your threshold designed the way it is
Ok.  See you Wednesday morning.  Make sure if you are in that 1st morning group you find someone to let you into the building and into any locked rooms if need be to get pinned up.  No excuses.  Security may be able to help you if you can’t find a tutor.
